Parent Information Letter for Student-Led Conferences: March 6th, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In order to help you better understand what is going on with your child’s learning this year, we are going to hold a different type of parent-teacher conference on March 6th from 8:00am-2:30pm. Students will be leading the conference and explaining to you what they have been doing in each subject area this year. Your child has been collecting information throughout the year, and is preparing to present to you these efforts and achievements.

Frequently Asked Questions about Student Led Conferences:

1.     What time can I attend?  March 6th is not a regularly scheduled school day.  There will be no school for students we want to be flexible with our families, therefore, we have established an open schedule from 8:00am-2:30pm.  Please note: We are reserving 11:00am-12:00pm for our staff to eat lunch.

2.     Is this required for my child to attend? Our goal is to have 100% participation as we believe the relationship between home and school is important.

3.     Can I meet with my child’s specialist teacher? Yes, we are fortunate to provide our students with opportunities such as music, art, technology, and physical education.  They would love to see you!

4.     When can I talk to my child’s teacher about my child’s progress? Please note that the purpose of student led conferences is for your child to take on a leadership role in their learning.  Parent/teacher conferences will not be rescheduled. If you have a specific concern please contact your child’s teacher.

5.     Book Fair: Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be in full swing, please stop by anytime between 8:00am-2:30pm.

Students have worked really hard preparing for these conferences, so please be sure to attend. It is their chance to show you all the work they have done this year. Your input will be important for setting our learning goals for the remainder of the year. Thank you for all the cooperation in this matter, and we look forward to seeing you March 6th.

Yours in Education,
