Dear Farmin Stidwell Families,
Happy December! As we move into this festive season, our school is buzzing with learning, celebration, and opportunities to care for our community. We are grateful for your partnership and excited to share several upcoming events.
Books & Bingo – December 4
Books & Bingo will be held on Wednesday, December 4 from 5 to 6:30 in the cafeteria. It will be a fun evening filled with lots of prizes, pizza, and time together as a school community. We hope to see many families there as we support literacy and our Title I team.
Holiday Food Drive – December 1–17
Our annual holiday food drive begins December 1 and runs through December 17. This year, we will collect food to support our own Farmin Stidwell families as well as help fill the little community pantries around town. Thank you for helping us spread kindness and meet essential needs during this season. I look forward to our third annual essay contest where students write why they would like to join me on a field trip filling the pantries around Sandpoint with collected food. This will be open to 5th and 6th grades -- more details to students soon.
Holiday Performance – December 17 at 9:00 a.m.
We warmly invite you to our holiday performance featuring Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and our Life Skills classes on Tuesday, December 17 at 9:00 a.m. in the gym. Our students and music teachers have been working hard, and we can’t wait to share their joyful performance with you.
Growing as Learners and Citizens
As we move toward winter break, our focus remains strong on academic growth while also nurturing students as caring citizens and community stewards. Through ongoing Underground Kindness projects, students are learning the power of service, empathy, and making a positive impact on the world around them. We will be singing at Life Care, delivering treats to police officers, shopping for Toys for Tots, creating a Kindness Cafe for staff, and much more!
Happy holidays to you all, and please reach out if we can help in any way. Food, gifts, clothing, winter clothes -- we can help with anything to make this season a little easier on your family.
Warmly,
Dr. Betsy Dalessio
Principal, Farmin Stidwell Elementary School
